JUST IMAGINE WHAT FLEET STREET FELT LIKE IN 1894? BARONESS FLOELLA BENJAMIN REFERRED TO OUR SWWJ HISTORY IN HER SPEECH IN WESTMINSTER

The sun shone, the conversation was vibrant and non-stop and the guests enjoyed a fabulous lunch for the celebration of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists 130th anniversary in the House of Lords last week.

How lovely to meet so many friends, colleagues and new SWWJ members linked to this international organisation held in such a famous venue as Westminster's Cholmondeley Room.  Then on to the Terrace, overlooking the Thames.  Perhaps I should have baked an enormous cake for the occasion, but the lunch was delightful enough and to dig out 130 candles was a just a little daunting.

In SWWJ We have a great membership of published writers, journalists, poets and associated professionals; also brand new, aspiring writers who are eager to step on to their particular ladder, hopefully to successful publication.

Take a peek at our website www.swwj.co.uk and learn a little more about our amazing organisation that has stood the test of time.
