Since beginning my research into old films via the
supersonic Talking Pictures format (essay written for The Hertfordshire Life Magazine)
a few years ago, I'm delighted to see more films in which actor Victor Maddern was in
the cast. Never described as a top star, Victor appeared in hundreds of mainly
British films. He was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art from
1949, which I visited many years ago and found to be a fascinating place.
Victor and his wife Joan lived not too far from me in Upminster, Essex.
Victor and Joan gave fabulous parties where
their friends and family entertained us and introduced us to many other
British actors.
