MY IDEA OF THE PERFECT 'GREEN MAN' AT TAMWORTH, STAFFORDSHIRE

Gardening frenzy always seems to occur over Easter weekend, and this year is no exception. I love succulents and have potted up a dozen or so for green-fingered friends and my lovely nieces, such as Julie in Ogmore by sea, Wales.  Even she, a dedicated gardener, agreed that we would need more than a few dozen houseleeks (sempervivums) to emulate this crazy character I came across in  Tamworth Castle grounds one year. What an imaginative (and scary) warrior we find here.  Of course, there was far more to see when we entered this famous castle.  Well worth a visit.

Tamworth Castle history: From its origins back in Anglo Saxon Times through to Victorian times, Tamworth Castle boasts a wealth of history.

Come on a journey with us and explore how the Castle developed over the centuries, from the 400s through to the modern day and learn about the families who called Tamworth Castle their home. Learn about the dastardly goings on, rumours of hauntings, along with key historical events which took place in Tamworth Castle.

Whether you are beginning a research project, planning a visit or just want to find out more about our fascinating Castle, this will whet your appetite for more.
