70th ANNIVERSARY OF 'THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN'

Currently I'm researching the 'Battle of Britain' aspect of the Second World War. This particular battle began on Wednesday 10 July 1940 and finished in October that year. Many young pilots died on both sides, during this terrible time. Features linked to Essex's (England) aspect during the summer of 1940 will appear in Newsquest's Weekly News series. For history students I am currently reading '2194 DAYS OF WAR' (AN ILLUSTRATED CHRONOLOGY OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR which is a sad, but authentic tome on this historical period. The aircraft is a Hawker Hurricane, an efficient deadly war machine.
